Anna Lysyanskaya To Speak About Anonymous Credentials At GHC

Next week, Brown CS is looking forward to perhaps its strongest ever presence at this year’s Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, the world’s largest gathering of women technologists. Among other highlights, Professor Anna Lysyanskaya is going to be delivering a lecture (“Authorized but Anonymous: Taking Charge of your Personal Data”) on October 14 from 10:30-11:30 AM in General Assembly Theatre C, Level Three, GRBCC.

Here’s her abstract: “‘For your own security,’ you are constantly asked to identify yourself and provide sensitive information such as your date of birth. Isn't there a smarter way to prove that you are an authorized individual? This talk is about anonymous credentials, which allow you to prove that you are authorized without revealing any other information. More broadly, I will talk about cryptographic algorithms that can make the Internet more secure and better at giving us privacy.”
