The future of virtual reality, explains Providence's East Side Monthly, is wide open. In this month's issue, Claire Flanagan steps inside the Yurt, Brown University's new 3D virtual reality environment, to look at some of the opportunities it offers and to interview Professor David Laidlaw, leader of the Yurt team. “I’m really excited to get people in there," he says, "doing real research, teaching, finding uses for this kind of technology, creating their own applications and coming back and using them."
