Few journalists are fortunate enough to cover the same beat as noted critic and Providence Journal arts writer, Channing Gray. He's written at length on Stephen Nachmanovitch, Paul Nelson, Benjamin Britten, puppetry, photography, piano design, and now the Yurt, Brown's latest 3D virtual reality environment. "What might be lurking there?" he asks, and soon finds the 100-million-pixel display being put to use visualizing the Martian landscape, fossilized bird footprints, a cancer patient's CT scan, and even a poem, concluding that it's "proving invaluable as a tool for scientific discovery".
